The Neurobiology of Leadership

Date: Thursday, January 28, 2021

Time: 10am-12pm

Location: Via Zoom

Facilitator: AnneMarie Rossi, Founder Be Mindful

Description:

Social Neuroscience, the study of what happens in the brain while people interact, reveals what makes a good leader. Specifically, exhibiting empathy and becoming attuned to others’ moods literally affect both their own brain chemistry and their followers.

Researchers have found that the leader-follower dynamic is not a case of independent brains reacting to each other. Instead, the individual minds fuse into a single system. Great leaders are those who powerfully leverage the biological truth of brain interconnectedness.

This program will be an experiential introduction to the how and why of the neurobiology of leadership.

Takeaways:

  • Baseline introductory knowledge of Social Neuroscience, particularly how it relates to leadership.

  • Short, easily integrated, neurorestorative exercises designed to rewire your brain and maximize the mirror neuron effect.
