Emotional Intelligence Corner:
Celebrating YOU!
Afterschool Professionals Appreciation week is around the corner (April 22nd-26th) and while we want you to celebrate and appreciate your staff and colleagues, we encourage you to celebrate YOURSELF as well!
Below is an activity slide from the SEAL Professional Learning Series: Celebrating Your Strengths.
Listen to the Kool & the Gang song Celebration to get you in a celebratory mood! Then consider and reflect on the four questions in the slide. After you answer each of the four questions, reflect on what it was/is about YOU that made those things possible. Based on your reflections, name your TOP 3 STRENGTHS. Write them on a piece of paper…put them in your phone…whatever works for you as a way to remind yourself to celebrate what makes you unique and special. Try this activity with your teams and young people as well!
