Cultural Relevancy & Cultural Archetypes: Implications of Working with Students of Color

Location: All events are being held virtually through the end of the year.

Session Description:

At the end of this workshop, participants will:

  • Know the goal of culturally relevant education and the three strands used to accomplish that goal.

  • Know the four practice areas of culturally relevant teaching/programming.

  • Understand overarching frameworks for designing instructional practices and material for cultural relevancy.

  • Know how to use the 7 Nguzo Saba principles to design learning experiences and environments that are considerate of Afrocentric culture.

  • Learn about cultural archetypes.
